Atlas Real Estate Advisors' management affiliate, Rent Athens LLC, has been a partner of Republic Funds since 2011 when Fund I acquired Woodsong Village, a 164-unit single-family residential community out of foreclosure from an affiliate of LNR Partners, the property's mortgage servicer.
Republic Funds collaborated with Atlanta's Strategic Management Partners (SMP) in 2011 and retained SMP in 2013 to manage all properties owned by Republic Real Estate Fund II in Central Georgia, including both properties in Macon.
Wehner Multifamily manages all of Republic Funds' properties in Texas, which comprise in excess of 600,000 square feet and 722 apartment suites. Republic Funds and Wehner Multifamily have improved occupancy significantly at all our Texas properties following repositioning efforts at each community.
We are proud to have saved an estimated 300,000,000+ gallons of water cumulatively as a result of our significant conservation efforts and building system retrofits. We also have reduced electricity usage significantly and have diverted thousands of tons of waste from landfills with our recycling programs.
Republic Funds performs asset management in-house, and supplements its internal due diligence with third-party engineering and environmental consultants and reports. We also maintain ongoing consulting relationships with advisory partners in Georgia, Texas, Arizona, and North Carolina to gain additional local market insights.
Jeff Baryshnik HBA MBA CIM FCSI is the President of Republic Funds USA Inc., which he founded in 2009. He has participated in more than $15 billion of acquisitions, and has been investing since 1992. At Republic Funds, Jeff Baryshnik has led 94 separate real estate transactions in the industrial, office and multifamily sectors. Prior to forming Republic Funds in 2009, Mr Baryshnik held roles of increasing responsibility at leading global investment funds including Citadel LLC ($22 billion of AUM).
At Citadel, Jeff Baryshnik invested in global securities and initiated its Canadian value investment and special-situations portfolio, which grew to more than $800 million. Mr Baryshnik led global investments across a range of industries including real estate and infrastructure. He began his career in Morgan Stanley's Mergers & Acquisitions Group at which he was a member of the Analyst Council.
Jeff Baryshnik is the author of an investment book that was published in 1999 and 2001 by Random House, and he placed first in the national TD Waterhouse Investment Challenge in 1996 and 1997. A value investor with an appreciation for financial history, Mr Baryshnik in a 1997 newspaper article compared the five-year stock market outlook to that of the Tulip Bubble's apex, and wrote in a Q1 2008 NYU Economics report that the stock market decline was in its infancy.
Outside of managing Republic Funds, Jeff Baryshnik is a Trustee on the board of True North Commercial REIT and a member of its investment committee. True North is a publicly listed real estate investment trust that owns stabilized office buildings leased to government and credit-rated tenants.
Mr Baryshnik also is a Director on the Huron College Alumni Board at Western University and is a past member of the Mount Sinai Hospital (Toronto) Board of Governors. He is a past co-chair of the Toronto UJA Young Bay Street division.
Jeff Baryshnik received an MBA (Stern Scholar) from New York University’s Stern School of Business and an HBA (Ivey Scholar) from the Ivey School of Business at Western University; he is a recipient of the Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation National Loran Award. Mr Baryshnik lives in Toronto with his wife and three boys.
